The Making Of The Man

OK! Now I'm going to post some photos from Halloween 2005, and I should be caught up. Well, maybe not. I have to find some pictures from Jacob's birth, and his first and second birthdays, and scan them, and post them and........you get the picture......no pun intended. After that I'll be up to date.

These were taken in October of 2005 at my house. We have a tradition. Every Halloween we make a straw man, and every year since Jacob was born we have taken his photo with 'The Man', as we call him. I will have to find the older ones and scan those, and I will......... eventually.

This was the first year Jacob was old enough to help. Herman said it was time for Jacob to pull his own weight around here, and help make the man. As you can see from the photos he and Herman had a high old time. I'm not sure which one had the most fun. When Jacob arrived Herman told him, "We're going to make 'The Man', Jacob." Of course, Jacob had no idea who 'The Man' was, but he instantly knew it was all about having fun.

He followed Herman upstairs to rummage through the closets, in search of the proper clothes and burlap for the job. All the way up the stairs he chanted, "We're gonna make the man; we're gonna make the man." I really wasn't sure he would be old enough to keep his attention on the project at hand, but as you can tell from the pix he took the job seriously, and never stopped until it was completed. Amazing really, since he had only turned two years old in August. He's a brilliant child, if I do say so myself, and I do.
